Persian New Year
March 29, 2010
Last Friday was the second Art After Dark event held at the Honolulu Academy of Art for this year. The theme was Noruz or Persian New Year. Technically held a week late, the new year 1388 rang in on March 20th at 1:44:30 am HST.
All the galleries were open and included specially themed presentations such as a Puppets, a play inspired by Noruz, and a spotlight gallery – Arts of the Islamic World. Persian music filled the courtyards while people wandered from venue to venue sipping rose water and enjoying eastern inspired cuisine.
